Thinking about swapping the mother board a20b-2000-0170
But I’m not totally convinced it’s a hardware issue and not just a parameter setting
Any thoughts?
We recently had an issue on our Leadwell 2000 mill where the display was scrambled (looked like static). After a few attempts, we tracked it down to a back memory board.
we replaced the board,...
Were you able to get this running again? What was the solution, we are having similar issue
yeah its kiln dried - to around 7% moisture, which matches the numbers i got.
hey guys, thanks for the feedback. heres a picture of the piece i'm talking about, it will make more sense when you see it.
i've come to the conclusion too that its a cross between internal...
awesome piece! whats the price for the LCD version?
i would say this part is totally possible - would it be as clean as laser or waterjet? probably not.
I'd use a fine tip, which typically gives about a .04" kerf.
check out the new hypertherm 65...
thanks gerry, just the person i wanted to reply :)
i had another thought too - right after i cut, if i sprayed the cutout with lacquer to seal the wood do you think that would offer any help?
...
i realize this is an old thread, but there is alot of good info in here and i had a followup question i hope someone can help out with.
I'm running into a similar problem. 11"x11"x1.5" piece of...
definitely drive from both sides, using rack and pinion. are you planning on driving it direct with the stepper? you will probably need gear reduction to get any resolution out of the table
the motor adapters aren't too horribly complicated. i believe a vendor on here sells something similar?
started working on my adapers for my THK rails. these aluminum plates will bolt to the new...
check out viper servo drives. i'm assuming you are talking about DC motors?
they have a few nice drives and would be good for retrofitting.
i'm using 5 of them on my machine, with US digital...

i have 5 viper 95's now - everything seems to be running great
the last drive has version 3, and all of the previous drives have version 2.7
i see a couple more settings...
first cuts - working out great!
my THK rails for the Y axis are here too. thats this weeks project
YouTube - dual spindle router
been awhile since i've updated :)
table is working well, and i seem to be getting a grasp of all the settings.
ended up bracing the Z axis in two places. One on the actual torch mount, and...
based on the images, i'd say these are possibly the same spindles that are made by mototecnica based on the body extrusion and bearing style used. The er20 shown on that page is the double bearing,...
i'd personally recommend against the typical round 1.5kw / 2.2kw chinese spindles. i purchased two with horrible results (runout, repeatability, etc)
i just purchased two mototecnica spindles from...
yeah for the VFD i'm using automation direct 1hp GS2 model. i still need to pick up another for the 2nd Z.
most of my other parts have been collected. Another Viper servo drive, and i just...
back for another small update. rebuild 3.0?
i purchased two THK ball screw actuators which i will be using as my Z axis. They have approx 8" of travel. I'll be running these with the same servo...
ok a little update to my question.. i investigated my machine and found a few mechanical things that might have been contributing to vibration in the machine.
for one, the pinon gear on my gantry...
recently i've been doing a bunch of cutting with the fine tip, which has been working well.
I've noticed i sometimes get a serrated cut (almost like a fine kitchen knife).
is this from moving...
understand they draw what they need, but i don't think they draw 10amps - which is the max output of a 3hp VFD.
has anyone measured extreme current draws, and what type of materials were you...
i received two 2.2kw spindles from love-happy on friday. at first i was very happy with the quality, however today i started to check the run out and both failed miserably.
I checked the run out...
finally got my spindles after a few days of being stuck in customs
i haven't fired them up yet, but i noticed they are balanced with dimples on the collet nut. That doesn't make much sense to me,...
we have a much older controller and are able to drip feed by changing one of the parameters.. this changes it from wanting to download the program, verses 'drip feed'.
of course i couldn't tell...
nice build! what controls are you going to use?
i'm jealous of your 65! having bought the 1000 about 6 months ago
jim, when you say "then lowers rapidly to cut height", how fast is fast?
50ipm, 100ipm?
thanks
damn thats impressive! can you post a close up of your entry points? speeds and torch config?
can i come to your house for a private lesson? :p
as i discovered with stainless, some grades cut better than others. In general the sheet stock grade (321 i believe?) left a pretty nasty edge compared to 304.
i have a job coming up in aluminum...
thanks again for all the info guys.
one thing i'm struggling with is deciding what the capability of the machine are. Specifically related to cut draft and lead in / lead out divots.
i've tried...
