Processing PVC and Acetal -...
Mactec54, you are right next time I'll keep my mouth shut and hope nothing happens. Wouldn't wanna tell someone to be careful or put an extra emphasis on safety and be wrong.

Just a quick safety note..don't let that acetal mix with any PVC. I don't know what you run in your shop, but they don't like each other.

I have 15 years in the plastic injection molding industry. The above info is correct the machines are rather large depending on the size of the part. The size of the part determines the barrel size...
I've looked all over trying to buy this font. I've seen it called interlocking vine on Google images. But I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Hello. I run a diy router table to cut mostly 1/2in mdf parts. I am using a 1/8in downcut spiral bit with a 1/4in shank. I find that the top edge of the wood is cut nicely, but the bottom of the...
Ger,
I kinda thought that might be the case. They were freebies along with the drivers.
What size motors and drivers would you suggest. I wouldn't be opposed to selling these to purchase new....
They are pretty large motors....65vdc each. I'm running a 150watt power supply for all three. They are running on pac sci 5310 drivers.
I noticed the acme threads that are driving the x and z...
Alright, here are the pictures of my machine. Please be kind....remember it was built as a hobby machine from spare parts. Taking these pictures made me realize I have a long way to go...
Thanks for the responses guys. I will get some pics of the machine and specs on the motion control system up shortly.

Hub,
When you say AL flex coupling, is that the same as a lovejoy coupling. Basically one half for the motor, one half for the shaft, and a rubber spider in the middle? I think that is what you...
I am using the microstepping settings. It is set to 25:1. My motors do not havea double shaft, so I'll have to get creative to figure out the resonanace issue.
Hub,
My motors definietly sound like the motors in the video. This may be a dumb question but what is resonance and what causes it?
I'm going to do a you tube search and figure out how to...
Don,
Thanks for the resonse. I am driving the router with Mach 3.
The motors are 7.5 amp bipolar motors that run at a max of 65vdc
The drivers run at 12-75vdc. All three axis are the same.

Oleks,
I don't know a whole lot about these drives. I was just digging into them myself, however I do know that the three I have came off of a high speed packaging machine. I am thinking the...
Oleks,
I have not tried it with the Mach3 software yet. I am planning on using it though. The PC that I have the Mach 3 installed on puts out a 3vdc signal from the parallel port. The drivers...
Oleks,
Mine seem to be okay, I'm still working on building the table, and getting the correct power to my motors. You are in luck, these files are digital. I tried to attach them to this post,...
Finally found the driver documentation, but it is too large to upload. Let me know if anyone needs it.
I am looking forward to building my cnc router, but wanted to know if anyone who built their own machine is now making money with it? If so, what kind of projects have you taken on, and how much...
Hello,
I am looking for connection diagrams for Pacific Scientific drivers. Model number 5410-010. I believe they are fairly old, but they were freebies, so I would like to get them to work. ...
