I strongly agree! I checked it out 20, yes 20 years ago and whether the interface changed it was still archaic in it’s capabilities even today!

We have exact same problem! What was turned out to be the problem?
John
Thanks. I will try to resolve this tomorrow.
John
Yes it does. I've checked the voltage to the encoder and it's correct. I need to get my scope out and check the output next.

I am stuck on trying to find out what is going on with this combo. I'm hooking up the servo drive and communications cable and getting a E11 error, which is "phasing not correct". This has happened...
Nice build. Only comment would be on the enclosure. You might consider lowering the side windows some to accommodate a longer part that might need the clearance. This would allow you to machine a...
What is the disposition of this? Has he shipped anything?

I've used Edgecam for years and got a chance recently to try Surfcam. What's the difference? They both seem the same to me now.
John
I see what your talking about and no I didn't. I must admit that I did it very quickly without noticing that. I just saw that it appeared to be similar but see under closer review it isn't.

Try using "use center point".

Before I start on this quest I wanted to make sure no one had accomplish automating the process of removing chips from the TL1. I have a couple of thoughts on this I will explore if no one else has...
I retired 2 years ago and have been using cad/cam systems since 1983. At that time I had to time share over the phone system using MDSI. I can’t begin to tell you how archaic it was. Yeah, punch...
Had a similar problem years ago on a cnc where the encoder was slightly loose. Not sure what the mount is on yours, but it would hunt for position. The more it vibrated the more it would vibrate the...
About 15 years ago I bought a new Daewoo VMC 4020. When we took a couple of test cuts on some 6061t6 aluminum we experienced the same thing. I had the Daewoo tech come out and they replaced the...
Thanks guys. If it is machine on time, then I'll just turn it off, since I don't use ridgid tapping that much. I usually thread mill, but I had a job where I need to form tap 80 holes.
John
When you turn on an option are the 200 hours your allotted actual run time hours or control on hours?
John
Thanks John. Nice setup and I'm doing some of your mods. I am in the process of making more changes and will present them once I'm finished.
John
About $700 with the pcool, bracket, and wiring cable. It just plugs into the io board in the main panel, very easy. Turn on the pcool code in the control and your good to go.
John
Thanks. That answers my question.
John
Brian,
Thanks. I have 208v three phase going to the machine so I could put a relay on it for three phase.
John
Brian,
Is the Haas pump single phase?
John
I'm not looking for +/-.001, I'm wondering if the older TL1 were 4.5" instead of the 5.5" on the current ones. Sounds like they did something to the cross slide to gain another inch.
John
I am building a new sump and was curious which 3/4 hp coolant pump some of you guys used?
John
Not sure if the TM1 servo's have a encoder or resolver, but I have found that this kind of error has been traced back to the (encoder/resolver) in the other machines we've had. Not counting the...
Any help?
John
I'm installing a Dorian rotary tool changer that I will need to make a spacer block for. I purchased the lathe new in 2006. I measured the centerline to cross slide top and came up with 4.320". The...
Well that's my thought too. With pointing somewhat away from the front of the machine I believe it won't splash coolant as much on me.
John
I'm installing a pcool on my Haas TM1 mill and the bracket I got when mounted (the only 2 holes that line up) has the bracket sitting at about a 30 degree angle from the x axis. The pictures I've...
Do you remember what they called it. Having trouble searching for it.
John
Thanks I'll look it up.
