    Sheet metal feature

Hello all, I have a part and I’m not for sure what to call out for a hole feature. I don’t know if it would be a flanged hole or not. See attached pictures. If anyone can tell me what it is I really appreciate it. If you know of a video or website showing how to make these holes that would be great also.

Would these holes be punched before it is formed?

    I hope the attachments uploaded.

    Thanks for any help,
    Eric

    Re: Sheet metal feature

Over here it might be described as a hole with a swaged edge and you would normally create the aperture first and then apply the swaging tool to form the edge. You might have to make the swaging tool to the profile you are seeking. The ring around the edge in IMG_6950 shows the diameter of the hole in the larger half of the tool impressed in the surface of the material and the depression around the edge in IMG_0952 shows that too much force was used and it has created a hard spot.
