Every stepper I've ever seen ran on DC. Are you sure yours is AC? Are you sure it's a stepper motor?

    Well, not so sure.
    Motor ref: HY200 3437 0660 AK04
I cant find all the information about the motor. I know its hybrid, have 4 leads, 2 coils and 6.6A phase current.
I assume it was AC because with the motor have a transformer to 48V but i dont find any retifier circuit, but i can be wrong.
Can i make any test to see if it is AC or DC ? maybe using it as generator ... ?

    Thanks for your answer.

Hi Jacare - A stepper motor runs on pulses provided by the driver. The driver can accept AC or DC and the driver rectifies it onto the correct waveform. Peter

Hi Peter, it makes sense now. So basicly its not important if it is DC or AC because the wave will need to be retified for the pwm provided by the driver right?

    Thanks for your anwser.

Yes you got it. Check the input voltage specs for the driver in its manual. Good luck Peter
