Hey guys and girls, I have two different Fedek bar feeders that will push the stock but will not continue from there
One is a second had new bar feeder and one just failed mid cycle.
They are pneumatic with the rotary encoder to measure the push distance.
The parameters should be fine as one was was working and in automatic when it stopped.
There are no alarm codes on either machine.
- Can I use some siemens software to view the plc and see where it is hung up ?
- Any pointers to.help with fault finding
- possible faulty encoder ?
Any pointers on what could be stopping it ?

If the bar pushes out to the bar stop and stops, does the chuck close? If not the feedout length was deemed to be too short by the system.

One way to prove this is, without NC reset, in handwheel mode slowly drive the bar stop axis back until the chuck closes. Note the axis position before and after to measure the feed out error.

You are missing the finish signal from the barfeed to the NC to allow the M10 chuck close to process.

there where different problems with each machine.
- one had a faulty AS2 switch failing to give the push finished signal
- the second had faulty wiring in the cabinet not letting the M85 end signal make it to the CNC

Hi we have the same bar feeder.

When we first load bar for example it says there are 10 parts from this bar.

this number counts down as parts are made, but it sticks on 1 and never gets to zero to activate a new bar to be loaded.

any help welcome
