    Linear Rail Mounting method

Have been looking to see if there are different ways to mount Linear Rails to T Slot, and I came across this pic:

    Attachment 432312

Has anybody seen/used this method before?
Does it fit just this particular brand of T Slot?

The only disadvantage I can see is cost and it raises the rail a bit so that may be undesirable, especially on the Z Axis.
The cost may be enough to put the mockers on it...lol

Looks like it could be an improvement over just mounting direct to the extrusion, there are some that supply a machined extrusion also which makes for better mounting, any kind of mounting on an extrusion is not ideal unless you use a full width plate mounted to the extrusion and then machine where needed for the Rail and rack or ballscrew mounting

    Thanks Mactec.
So, a section of Ali Flat bar, say 10 x 40mm bolted to the top of the Extrusion and then machined flat?

Correct it is better if you machine a shoulder for the rail alignment, 2mm is normal but check with your rail you are going to use as the Ground mounting edge are different heights and you need clearance for the linear bearing

Here is a end view drawing of 2 different ways to machine the mounting plates after mounting, they can be epoxy glued and screwed to the extrusion before machining I would use 12mm thick by what ever width of the extrusion, Pocket is always better as no alignment is then needed for the rail But both ways work well
