Your top MOSFET is a p-channel type. The source pin goes to your +40VDC supply. Gate voltages are measured from gate to source. If the gate voltage is measured from ground, it will be 40VDC to turn the MOSFET 'off', 35VDC to turn the MOSFET 'on'. Absolute maximum Vgs (gate to source voltage) is usually +/-20V and your circuit places 35V to 40V on the gate.

    The consequence will be:

    1) The p-channel MOSFET will never turn 'off'.
    2) The gate to source oxide will rupture because there is 40VDC gate to source.
    3) The destroyed MOSFET gate will short to source, apply 40VDC to your 74HC and logic circuit.

    Mariss,
Thank you very much for your explanation and I could understand. Because I no experience about MOSFET, so pls help to check the below schematic (CHOPPING.PDF) whether can work well or not?

One more thing I want to ask, last time I use the NON-CHOPPING.PDF to drives the 5Phase pentagon stepper. As your explanation then in this case the P-channel MOSFET will be never turn 'off', but in actually it work well, and P-channel MOSFET get very hot.

    huongthan,

I do this on a "as time allows" basis. Right now, time does not allow. In a few days it will allow again. Be patient.

Thank you very much for the infos, there are too many drive for 4 phase and 2 phase, I wonder how hard to make 5 phase drive?

I search every where, every day, and a long time for now, still I did not see a properly 5 phase.
does The UDX5114 using a pic? can you draw it schematic out?
If yes , then it is very good )

    Cheers
    Lehung,
Did you try to build a 5pase stepping motor with SI-7510 + SLA5073 + SLA5074? I'am testing with those IC and it work well. It seem to easy to build a driver.

    Hey ppl....

I know of a shop in a market here (South Korea) that sells used 5 phase stepper drivers...
I think they are vextra... If anyone is interested, PM me...

    Give me until next week....
I'll visit the shop again and check the specs and the price...
What current/voltage are you looking for??

is my turn.to say .."please "
    look my friends...is frustrating..

and i have 3 original copier (canon clc) driver but I can't use
i can read the 78c12 nec 8 bit microcontroller for 5 phase program
i need to program another microcontroller and cut the original board for use final driver
    this is the board

and this is two parts from original schematic

sorry for large pictures ...is just a part of 5 phase, stupid collection...8 motors and 6 copier drivers sleep in my boxes
for 4 years ..i think is time to say "sell"

I tray to buy the legendary SI7510 from sanken but in Romania is just IMPOSSIBLE
can anybody help me with this?

    Hi All,

Have long time I did not enter the forum,
My pentagon stepper driver is very simple, just using the SI7510 IC to control ten 2SK2232 mosfet. Here is sample video for your reference. If you have any inquiry, fell free to contract me!

can you provide a list of parts/schematic that you used to build these drivers, or even a tutorial?

    Thanks

    Hi All,
The attached is schematic that I built the 5-phase stepping Driver. Tested and confirm it work well. Enjoy!
