1998 Hitachi Seki VM-40 MX-3 help? Will Pay.

    Hello,
Bought this machine for a decent price, powered it up and it had a servo drive erorr so I changed out the drive it powered up with no errors and worked fine.
Untill I tried to do a tool change throught the MDI and the tool arm rotated without releasing the lock pin first and broke the arm. It is fixed again and I am looking for someone to help me out, With getting the ATC to work, I will pay for phone/e-mail support. I have the manual and I am knowledgable on the electonics and mechanical part of CNC machines, Just never did the machine setup part. I am not sure anything is broke just not sure. I think there is a macro in the controller that does the tool change and there is a way to manully step throught the ATC.
    Thanks

    Yes, M-codes

    In the MDI
    and
“maint” mode (toggle switch inside cabnet)

M100 Arm swing in to spindle
    M101 Arm slide to spindle
    M102 Arm advance
    M103 Arm Turn Clock wise
    M104 Arm Turn CCW
    M105 Arm Retract
M106 Arm slide to home position
    M107 Arm swing/return
M108 Arm slide to Magazine side

    M119 Orient spindle

    so sequence is
    M119
    M100
M101 at this position you can adjust the arm to fit your spindle
    tool clamp/unclamp Manual push button
M102 at this position you can adjust the arm to fit your spindle
    M103/104
M105 at this position you can adjust the arm to fit your spindle
    tool clamp/unclamp Manual push button
    M106
    M107

Where are you located? I'm in Casper, if you still need the help.
