    Backlash Compensation

Hello, I seen some websites to this address, so I figured I give you a
    shot. I have a 1993 Toyoda horizontal milling machine with a 15MA
Fanuc controller. Could you or any of your buddies send me some info
of how to set the parameters for backlash compensation? I have about
12-13 microns of slop in my X axis. I don't know how to get rid of it,
someone said something about adjusting a parameter. Please help..

    Thanks,
    Brian

Do you have the parameter list, it's in the 'Operation Manual' look at parameter 1851 'backlash for each axis' procedure, you need to set the machine in MDI set the PWE bit =1 that is parameter 8000=1, after entering the compensation you need to set 8000 back to zero.

Parameter 8000 bit 0 =0000000(X) is the PWE 'Program Write Enable' bit. It has to be set to a 1 to allow the changes of parameters.

Ok, I'm starting to get it now. My next question now is, how does the controler know I want to change the X axis and not Y or Z?

It's a while since I set it on a 15, but the information gives one parameter 1851 for each axis, so I am guessing when you look up P1851 it should hopefully list the different axis present.
    setting range is -9999 +9999.
