If that Haas carried his business to a point where he can afford the Okuma, it did its job and he should be grateful. If his business already had those demands when he bought the Haas, then he's cheap, or he's a booger pickin' moron.

Wow, think Okuma sponsored that one? I agree, if he did always run that hard of material, the HAAS was the wrong choice to begin with. I'll bet he still runs the haas with aluminum! From my past with Okuma, the MILLS are very light on horsepower anyways, the Mori's always kicked the Okuma's but in milling. I worked for the distributor for both company's, so this was based on feedback from CUSTOMERS, not my opinion. Before any Okuma guys get but hurt, I love the Okumas, and the Mori's equally. My shop now is mostly Okuma turning and Mori milling.
We were laughing at that video the other day in the shop. Not exactly telling all sides of the story perhaps.
We just got our new[used] Okuma lathe running by the way.
