    Cool v-carve

When using V-carve (level 1) is there a way to make a final finish pass ?

i think the only way to go about it is to raise your tool for the first pass then take another cut at depth , there doesn't appear to be anything in the software to allow a rough then finish pass

In the V-Carve Feature edit, when using a V-Cutter, the dialogue will have settings for how it does the roughing and what is left for the final pass. If you want to define a different tool, under pocketing parameters, you can select "endMill" and it will add an endmill tool to the job for roughing pockets.

Do you have the full version or is it a trial? We've been using v-carve for a while now, never had that problem. The more time you spend on the prog. the better you'll get. If you're having issues and need parts cut, the easiest way would probably be to use a smaller cutter for the roughing. Use a slightly bigger cutter for the final. The only draw back is you have to run the prog twice.

    Hope that helps ya,
    Mike

Under pocketing parameters, when you select use V-tool , Pocket depth and V-tool stepover are the only 2 setting available.

I just dont see it ,what setting would you put to have a final pass of .02 per example...
