    SX3 to SX4 conversion

I have recieved my kit but without instructions. I have viewed the other recent posts on the subject and checked out the SX4 manual online. Unfortunately my spindle controller board is a different version from those online. I wonder if anyone has used this newer board and can help me identify the connections required (if any) at sites 1 to 9.

    Thanks

Version on board is A01 091224

my board is a different version, but here is some help:
    1 or 2: E stop....no idea which is which
3 or 4: E stop output to BOB
5: spindle control to your 5 axis BOB
    6: no idea
    7: no idea
    8: not used
    9: not used

The two pin connector on the main board in the bottom RH corner should be for the spindle auto/manual switch...and I'm guessing there is a connector hidden by the daughter board in this picture....that is for the Hall effect sensors in the motor

Sorry...I thought I could help more....

    Thanks for your reply.

The two pin connector bottom right is labelled K1 K2 and is shorted out.
There is a 5 pin connector hidden under the daughter board and it it matches the markings on the secondary cable from the new spindle motor.

The "manual/cnc" control for the spindle has been separated out and I presume goes to either 1 or 2.

Maybe there is someone with a new SX4 that could have a look in the back.

what you have going on is pretty much the same as what I have.... although the boards are configured quite differently.....
K1 and K2 are shorted to bypass the manual/auto switch (mine is not shorted, but runs to the front cover switch)
the larger green 5 pin connector is for the secondary cable (the hall effect sensors)
The E Stop is almost guaranteed to be going to either 1 or 2.
