    Wasino lathe ball screw

I've got a late 90's Wasino LG-7 and am noticing the X axis is very sloppy. I know you can adjust for backlash in the CNC parameters but this seems really bad. Other that replacing the ball screw is there any way to tighten this to remove some of the end play?
    Thanks

Is it possible the end play is in the support bearing assembly (bearing slop, brackets holding the bearing, attachment points of the bearing housing)?

Yes I suppose it could be that. I just noticed a lot of movement in that axis and was looking for some ideas on what I should be looking for
