I have a brushed DC motor rated at 160VDC 12 Amps (2.3hp). I want to control it with a Granite Devices controller, or similar. What is the best way to provide the 160V DC to the controller from 240V AC single phase? (and cheaply)

I assume this could be done with a transformer, bridge rectifier and capacitors, but I have never seen a transformer of this size at my local electronics shop (500VA max).

I already have a couple of amplifiers for AC servos which take the 240v AC and have a 340VDC bus. I assume they just rectify the 240vac into 340vdc.

Are their off the shelve products to do this?

Thanks,
Frank
