Recently my Plasma Cutting Machine - "CR Electronic model E-3-15 year 1998" returns a error and don't work.

The problem is:

1 - When I go to "plotter" option on Main Menu and create a new project selecting a created geometry and optimization. Finishing that when habitually the printer on my desktop print the aspect and distribution of the cutting pieces now returns a error on screen and exit the program "PLASMA II".
The error is:

"Return time M6101 math Floating-point. error-invalid, 129 returned from PL to exel abort."

2 - If i go to "plotter" option on Main Menu and select "transmit" to transmit a previous project occuors another error:

"Plasma TX Error 7 in Function "rx_char", Called from:
"main","tx_start","rs_open",
Timeout Error. Check Connections."

Both completely disable the plasma cutting machine, because this is the only way to send information to the machine.

I try something to solve this problem but the problem persists.
- Install newer PC Printer "Epson" (it work, printed some program reports).
- Verify cables that connect PC to the controller of plasma cutter.

I presume that everything on desktop software still OK because it don't have internet connections or any contact with any other software. I only have MS-Dos OS and the Plasma controller program "Plasma II".

I appreciate any help to solve my problem, any information about the presented errors because any of them are referred in the Manual of the machine and any solutions to resolve or find the origin of related problem.

Hi Joao
It looks like you are having a drive or memory failure.
It is hard to say with the old DOS based controller.
We do not support the old CNC.
We replace it with a new Hypertherm Windows based CNC and drives.

As CR and some of theior vendors are out of business, and the other vendors will not respond to reqiuests for help, we replaced it all with off the shelf components.

With our system you throw away the opperators console and drive motors.
We have done 3 systems and each has been a little bit diffrent.

I think i could write it in portuguese since i think that is your main language. Am i wrong ? Anyway and for those o dont understand Portuguese i continue on english.

Ok first of all i supose that until today you already have the problem solved since that your post is old. anyway i had the same problem a few years ago and at this point im still working with the same machine but ( yes there is a but... ) our machine was retrofited

You problem is in fact related to the tranfer protocol used to tranfer the desired program to machine. In fact is a hardware problem ( the box where you connect the cables ).

Why the ??? well becase there are cheaper solutions for the problem including suport from older tecniciens from CR itself. Dont really remember where i saw it but i can take a look for it if you are interested.

Say something before you go to a retrofit if you didn´t already done it. One important thing if you are from Portugal there is one enterprise that is not the good option
