    Unhappy X3 Spindle won't spin

Been reading forums for about a year now.Have Seig X3 mill.Cnc Fusion Deluxe kit.Went with Crevice Reamer G540 option electronic setup. With all the advice I gained here it has been smooth sailing until I got to the spindle. Not sure if its a wiring problem or my lack of knowledge of Mach3 configuring.Have tried wiring G540 direct to mill board.Tried wiring with Cnc4pc C6 board and there Mach3 settings but still can't get spindle to work. Thanks for your help,Bob

Got it working with the C6 board from CNC4pc.Gecko tech support was useless.I knew more about there controller then they did.Thats sad since my knowledge was limited at best.

I used pin 8 from the A-axis as my step signal, pin 2 for the ground. Those goto the C6 input signals connectors (X2).I put a volt meter on analog output connectors (X4).I set Mach3 spindle to step pin # to 8, Dir pin #0,Step port to 1,Dir port to 0.Spindle setup to use spindle motor output and step/dir motor.I set mill to run on low,max of 1000 rpm.I turned on spindle in mach at 1000 rpm. Then I adjusted the pot (X5) on the C6 board till my meter read 7 Vdc.Then I shut everything down and wired from analog output connectors (X4) ground to P3 and 0-10v to P2 on the mill circuit board.I am by no means a expert on this but it works now.Maybe someone else will reply if I have something wrong.

very cool ... thanks for the details...

So what happens when you run the mill with the gears shifted to high speed?

Does a Mach command for 1,000 RPM simply produce 2,000 RPM?

    Inquireing minds want to know

When running the spindle at 1000 or 2000 rpm it is at 7vdc.In low gear at 500 rpm it is at 3.5vdc.Thats why I set the pot a 7vdc in low gear at 1000 rpm.So in high gear Mach will run the spindle at 2000rpm when you tell it 2000 rpm.Make sure you setup 2 pulleys in Mach one for 1000 rpm and one for 2000 rpm.
