Hey All,

I started messing around with reliefs and have cut some neat stuff out using .stl files.

My question is: Is when I import a .stl file I can only see it in the 3D view and nothing shows up in the 2D view. I am wanting to cut the part out completly and not just carve it into a piece of wood.

So basically, I want to carve it into a piece of wood and then I want to be able to profile the part out so I can use it on another work piece.

How do I go about doing this?

Hi.If you would like to see anything in 2d view, press button with greyscale bear "grey scale from composite relief" or " preview relief layer" on the top of 2d view. If you would like to save part of relief, outline it by vector and press "zero rest" in shape editor. Than save result as relief.

A couple of things:

I am importing an .stl that is 2 by 4 inches. In the 2D view, the part is 2.5 by 5 inches.

Also, I can't seem to figure out the "zero rest" in the shape editor.
