I have a Mazak QT8 with a T32-B control which is a 1991 model machine. Machine ran fine yesterday with no problems. Upon startup this morning we generated a 058 emergency stop (external) alarm. I've checked out what I see and nothing jumps out at me. Has anyone had experience with this issue and have a direction I should look?

Check your servo drive(s) and spindle controller for alarms. Check the obvious, tripped breakers, blown fuses, and overloads tripped.

And power supplies, 24vdc etc.

I have the same alarm and cant find wtf is the problem. Any ideas?

We had a problem with the servo drive that was causing this alarm. We had to ship the drive to Mitsubishi for repair. Sorry, I know that does not help much.

You should check the drives typically you will see a 58 on the NC but a 55 on one of your drives. Once you find the the drive showing a 55, check your B and R terminals, if there is a jumper between these two terminals the problem is with the drive.
