    Controlled telescopes, anybody made one?

Hi, my friend bought a telescope for his kids, a pretty good one.
After a few beers, I told him i had heard tales of astronomy nerds building up computer controlled telescopes, much like your stepper motor homebuilt routers in terms of technology. Some guys even write their own software!
Anyway, I found a site for a software called 'audella', it's open source.
Has anybody in the cnczone built a stepper controlled telescope?
I am thinking 2 wiper motor worm drives hooked up to a Xylotex or toshiba fet drive with 2 Nema 17 and 2 car batteries hooked up in series to drive it.
(you cannot have the cars motor running in middle of an outback night looking at stars!!)

    Any bites??

If you're not already a member, head on over to iceinspace.
You'll find quite a few people have built their own telescope controllers.
    Regards
