Hi all,
I just bought a supermax (series I -j head) that has a retrofitted cnc system from retrotec. It is a retrotec cnc 8800. It was functional until the monitor fried when I was buying it. Retrotec is no longer in business ( and is not the same as the company in Texas)
It has nc400 drives a1520 by contraves and servo motors that I am trying to ID. Clifton will not help after 4 emails and 3 calls.
I am looking at getting rid of this system (possibly).
The motors have 4 brushes and 2 wires. Not including the 5v encoder by dynamic research.
The motors have no tags.
Shaft is 5/8 dia
the motor is 4" in dia and 5.62" long (not including encoder enclosure)
one of the pcb's have a +- 16vdc on it
I have hooked up a few predesigned systems, but I not that electonically adept at finding a modern driver for this motor and do not really want to at this point .
Does anyone have any recommendations in identifying these?
(I realize how silly of a question this is-and I am not looking for a serial/model #)
motor ID is my issue, not the contraves drives.
any recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I do not have info on this Retrotek 8800 system.
For me to decide what I want to do would require to ID this motor.
Thanks in advance
best regards
rob
