    vfo doors

    hi,
can anyone tell me a slick way to get the doors off of the vf-0 without taking them apart. it looks like i can take spring off but everything is very tight.
    thanks.

To be honest I've never found a slick way of doing the doors - taking the doors off is the easy part - its putting them back on again that is the difficulty :-)

The best way that I've found is this - and - I would suggest two people to do it to make it easier:

    Remove all springs.
If you have one, unplug door interlock.
Mark the positions of the top rollers in the slot (this will help when trying to re-fit)
Undo the nuts on both top rollers - they are on slots and will now move.
Totally remove one of the top roller assembley's on each door.
The doors should now simply lift off.

To re-assemble just do the same but in reverse.

If I was taking the doors off, then i'd probably buy a new set of rollers too. They come pre-assembled in a full set from your HFO. If your going to the trouble of removing the doors then you may as well replace the rollers while your doing it.

    Hope this helps.

    thanks haas man.
i need to replace the window gaskets and i repaired one of the doors. it was a pain to put the door on for sure. i think i will just touch up the paint and put the new gaskets on without removing the doors. funny because it looks like they would come off with a click of the rollers.

Here are the directions taken from the Mechanical Manual

    "Installation
    1) Ensure that the lower roller hex fasteners are tight and the upper roller fasteners are loose and in the middle of their adjusting slots. Place the door into the encloure, and position with the lower rollers resting on the lower roller guide.

    2) Rotate the door to the upright position, and engage the top rollers onto the top roller guide.

    3) Replace the tension springs onto upper and lower roller swivel brackets. Tighten the upper roller fasteners.

    4) Verify that the door travels smoothly. If it does not:

Check that all rolller wheels are seated and roll on their tracks.

If all roller wheels are seated on their tracks, it will be necessary to
adjust the door travel by loosening the upper and lower roller hex
    fasteners."

    Hope this helps!

BTW, what process did you use to get the seal/door window back in? I haven't been able to find that procedure in the manual. Thanks.
