Is the 2.5 connected to a cutting machine?
If so what type?
The OEM usually has a relay for plama start to the Max 100.
I dont remember the terminal numbers on the Max 100. I am on the road and do not have a manual handy.
I think Start is 33&34 and Arc On is 36&37. Check your manual first.
If your cutting machine has Oxy fuel already connected to the 2.5 then you will have to wire up a special Relay interface, as the 2.5 does not have enough I/O for both.

I am looking at a purchase on the following. Can anyone provide some feedback if this is a good deal or stay clear? He is asking $9,700.00


Burny 2.5 Plus CNC Controller with optic eye. Koike Sanso framework. Includes machine torch but no power source for the torch. Has attachments for 3 torches, one plasma and two oxy-acetylene. Cutting area is 5' X 15'. Includes cutting table that measures 4' X 8'. Also includes Hypertherm powermax 1100. Comes with Software, manual, computer, cutting bench and trays.

The answer is somewhere in the middle.
Not knowing what type and version of software, the model of the Koike machine, or condition of it, it is hard to put a price on it.
Was the machine made in the US (Koike in Arcade NY) or Japan?
What condition are the Gas/Oxygen hoses in?
If it has a Servogas panel, does it have leaks? (It could cost $5k to fix one)
The 2.5 is somewhat supported by Burny. It could take 3-5 weeks to get the parts they still provide. The 2.5 Plus Processor board goes for over $3k

Does the Eye still work?
Lots of tweaking to keep one running.
The tracing eye is most likely Westinghouse-Canada, and thery went out of business last year.
Lots of them around, but you will have to scrounge for parts.

What vintage is the PowerMax 1100? (Contact Hyperthgerm with the serial number to determine that. 800 643 9878 in the US)

Does the machine come with a warranty?
How far does it have to travel to get to your place?
It most likely needs to be installed on a good cement floor, rather than just plopping down a unitized machine and leveling it.

The price may be a bargain, or not depending on what you are getting.
