Hello,
Recently the machine has been "losing" characters after a program transfer.
I program everything on a PC and send everything through a DB-25 cable. This has worked fine for years but in the last few months, the code the machine receives will be missing a character, any character. One time it was missing a "Y" character, one time it was a "2" in a position. Sometimes it leaves out the end-of-block character.
1. Re-sending the program fixes the problem most of the time.
2. I tried a different A-B box, same problem.
3. I tried a different cable, same problem.
Can anyone suggest anything? Is it the RAM? Is it the ROM? Is it noise in the line? We have not installed any new electronics or equipment in the area where the cable runs. There is a large air conditioner close to the line but it has been there for at least a year and this is only a recent problem.
The replacement cable I ran is about a foot below where the original cable is, so it should be further from the AC roof unit.
Please help! I don't like when the machine goes to Y0.725 instead of Y20.725 due to lost characters!
