    3D angled boss

Having trouble trying to machine a 3D angled boss on the face of a part at a 10 deg angle using the B-Axis on a Mazak intergrex 200 2y with a 640 MT control. Using a G125 for the B-Axis in a eia format and the cutter is cutting int the back face of the part. Does anyone know of another way of cutting this angled boss using some type of a surface mill feature?

Being this is a mill/turn part I'm a bit out of my element, but I'll give it a try. I have had a similar problem, I used a radial finishing cut with a 1" 3fl index mill. I gave the tool path a center point well off the part, approx 24-36 inches. select the surface and have the tool stay perpendicular to the main portion of the part. It will take longer to do this way rather than doing it the right way.

    Good luck.

P.S. Send me a copy of the part if you can and I'll give it a try.

Post your program on here, I like to see what's your program look like? Since you have an Intergrex machince I don't see a big problem with that part at all.

By look at the pic it's compound angle boss, so my approach will be the rotate the boss perpendicular to the spindle head and got the head rotate 80/10deg, and other angle will be taking care in the program itself. hope it help/image what I am try to see what to do. Send me print...... I will look at this.
