Re: Converting 3d models into reliefs

Hello, this is an old thread, I know, but maybe somebody find my post useful. I have developed software that provides a powerful but intuitive solution for converting full 3D models into nice looking bas-reliefs that are perfectly suitable for a 3-axis CNC machining. Software is not finished yet, but the actual results looks very good. For more info please visit 2Dto3D Studio / Digital Models for CNC Machining

Could be a very useful piece of software. At the moment on the rare occasions when I need to do something of the type,I use the facility within LinuxCNC to create a 3D relief from an image file.It isn't perfect but it does a fairly good job.
