    64 bit compatibility?

    Hello!

I am going to UNI next year and am buying a new laptop. The last thing i need to do before buying the laptop is decide 32 bit or 64 bit windows 7. I have heard things have changed a bit and 64 bit is a bit more compatible now with simpler software. Would Alibre standard (hopefully professional soon) work with 64 bit windows? i do not mean is alibre 64 bit software, but if i got a 64 bit machine would i be able to use alibre.

    best regards,

    Reed Teyber

I'm running Alibre Expert without any problems on a Toshiba notebook with 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium installed. I don't see any reason why Alibre Standard won't run on a 64-Bit machine, too.

The only difference between Expert and Standard Alibre are the additional modules.... i.e. Sheetmetal, Motion, Toolbox, CAM, etc.

At this time, Alibre 12 doesn't support 64-bit. It doesn't support dual, or quad, core processors either.

Word is, that Alibre will have 64-bit support starting with Alibre 2011, which is to be released in a few months.

When I spoke to Alibre a few months ago, they told me multi core support may not come until next year.
