    6M-B controller shut down while running, now stuck in IL mode

    Hello all;

    Newbie here. I registered hoping to find some answers. Here's the story...

    I'd just edited a program on my CNC today (older Mori), exited edit mode and started running the program, when all of a sudden I heard a soft but clearly audible "click" from the controller, and then the screen went completely blank.

    The spindle was still turning, but I couldn't stop it either with the STP button, reset button, or even the E-stop. I turned off the main switch, waited about a minute, then turned it back on.

    Controller had normal stuff on it (FIFO Not Ready, etc). I turned the controller on, it flashed some characters on the screen, and went into IP MODE. Six choices there...forget what they all were just now.

    I can't exit IP MODE with any button on the console, even Reset. Nor can I select any of the 6 choices (press key #2 and hit "input" key...nothing happens....ditto for remaining 5 items).

    Called Fanuc and they said probably a board on the main board. A Fanuc tech will be out in a few days.

    Can anyone explain to me what may've happened to my controller? And, is there any way to exit IP MODE that I haven't tried?

    Thanks to all for reading and answering.

    Harry
