Exclamation Alarm 519 Data Size Exceeded

    Hi everyone!

I'm new in this world of machining and i don't know how to fix this problem.

i'm using a Mazatrol 640m with Mastercam X3, at first i used V9 of mastercam but since the computer that had it died, we decided to move on an upgrade to a recent version, the problem is that we cannot send any programs to the machine. it always throws an alarm about data size exceeded. i searched in the manual and it says i only need to put an EOB before 256 characters in the EIA format, i have checked my program and i don't find any block exceeding 256 characters, also if my program its less than about 100 blocks the machine don't recognize it and throws an alarm 544 Set new paper tape, i don't know if it's my parameters or what im doing worng because with Mastercam V9 i dind't have any problems, please help me .

if anyone can help me i would be very grateful.

these are the parameters im using

    Mastercam X3
    Format: EIA
    Baud rate: 19200
    Parity: None
    Data bit: 8
    Stop Bit: 2
    Handshaking: Software
    Port: COM3

    Mazatrol 640m

    Format:EIA
    Baud rate:19200
    Parity:none
    Data bit:8
    Stop bit:2

    same problem

    Greetings,
We are having the same "544 Set new paper tape" error when trying to upload a program to the machine. We are using a direct serial cable with same config:
    baud: 19200
    data bits: 8
    parity: none
    stop bits: 2
    flow control: none

    Data bits is wrong.

Try setting the machine to 8 stop bits and the computer to 7.

Thanks! We set the machine to 8 data bits and also parity to none. I've never run into a mismatched set of communication parmaeters before, but it works. Thanks.
    Final settings:
Mazak 640M: 4800 baud, none parity, 8 data bits, 2 stop bits, software handshake
DNC Device: 4800 baud, even parity, 7 data bits, 2 stop bits, software handshake

We also set a whole bunch of advance settings on the machine per the manual. They are called tap1 thru tap32, but I'm not positive these are needed.
