    A2100 Hard Disks

Has anyone found out the in's and out's for working round the options on a A2100 controlled VMC ? We have several A500's and would like to re-master the hard disks so that they are all running exactly the same software, some are 6,000 or 8,000 rpm, some have T Coolant. But as the NC CPU has a coded chip its preventing us doing so as it comes up with various option alarms. Cincinati want to charge me for new hard disks rather than sell me a mastering disk. We have sucsesfully copied the hardisk in one machine and ran the new hardisk in the machine that the hard disk was copied from, but that about it. Its not that we havn't purchased the options already. Any pointers would be helpful !

    Cheers

Use Norton Ghost to make a disk image of the hard drive. You can transfer it to a different/larger drive.

    A2100 Hard Disks

    Thanks for your reply,
Transfering / imaging isn't the problem, the problem is making the image of a hard disk from one machine work on a different machine.
The code on a tiny PCB located on the bridge board prevents swopping hard disks around.

There must be a way of editing the A2100 application program to make it ignore this.

    Cheers
