    Journeyman 325 spindle motor

I have a General Numeric (Fanuc) spindle motor in my J325 and I am trying to find out how many horse power it is without ripping it out so I can size up my rotary phase converter. I was able to read the part number on the plate and it is A06B-1002-B600#2000 it is also 1500/8000 RPM. Can anyone tell me how I can find the horse power. Thanks

Don't know about a Fanuc motor in a Tree, never seen one. The std J325 was 5 HP peak, the J425 was 7 1/2.

We have a 325 with a Fanuc Spindle Motor. I don't know the exact size of the motor but as the earlier post said these mills were rated at 5 HP. We are actually running this mill on a 20 HP converter along with a Mazak QT8 CNC Lathe with no problems. We have a J425 that we are running on a 15 HP converter. I typically dedicate a converter to a CNC machine but for the sake of time this little mill was hooked to an existing converter. I really need to put it on a separate converter. I don't believe you would have a problem with a 10 HP converter for a 325 Tree Mill. I typically size my converter to be double the size of the spindle motor. Like I said, we are not having any issues with the current arrangement but we are not running this machine on a lot of heavy milling.

My J325 has a Fanuc motor. Yaskawa (sp) was another motor that was used. My spindle drive was destroyed when I got my machine, I'm using a CT Emerson spindle drive (Unidrive Classic 2202). There is an encoder on the motor but I'm not sure how to hook it up. I do wonder if it would be capable of rigid tapping...?

Here is the info off my motor. Mine is the 6000 rpm version although it said 8000 on the motor. Same as yours...
