I've seen it happen with other screens, but not with the 2010. If you change tabs, do they still stay black? They should change back when changing tabs.

This has to do with the order Mach3 displays bitmaps.

Have you modified the screen at all? If the bitmap order gets changed, this can happen.

What version of Mach3 are you using?

I'll look into it a little further when I get home.

    Hi Gerry

    Version R3.042.020
I can not make it happen, Just one of those odd things but will try and give you more info when it happens again.
That same icon will just stay black when I click on others, Only one will be black.
I haven't changed anything on the screenset, Just using the default screenset and works perfect for what I need.
This doesn't bother me to much as I know whats behind the black icon.

Thanks for your support, Very cool screenset

I use the same version on my machine, and have not seen it.
But like I said, I have seen it with other screens, very randomly. I just chalk it up to a Mach3 peculiarity.

If it keeps happening, and it's only a few specific icons, send me an email, and I might be able to make a change for you to try.

I've seen this happen as well. I'm pretty sure it happens when you click and drag on a button icon.

I just tried it and it will turn the buttons black (not all of them) if you click outside of the button and drag onto the button. Several buttons on the Run screen will do this. But switching to another tab and back seems to refresh the screen and the buttons are viewable again.

    Yep, that does it.

Let me see if I can get it to stop.

In the mean time, don't do that.

    Fixed it.

If anyone wants a fix for the "black buttons", email me and I'll send you a new .set file.
Note that only the toolbar buttons are "fixed". Other buttons may still turn black if dragged onto.

Good to see you found the cause
    It was the operator.

It's just due to Mach3's goofy display techniques. I took a short cut so I didn't have to add a transparent image to every button on 4 different screen files. Once I add the transparent image, I can no longer see where the buttons are in the Screen Designer, which can make editing a bit of a pita.
But it's done now, and should be much better for you.

CV settings depend on the machine, and what you're cutting. You might want different settings for 2D cutting vs 3D cutting, for example.
Unfortunately, the different settings can require a lot of trial and error to find out how they affect your machine, and what settings work best.

    Question Strange stuff.. Axis issues

Something weird is going on with my Z axis. If I am running a part and stop it so I can back up and do a "Run from here" the Z jumps to -30 (inches). So, after clicking OK the first thing that happens is it crashes past the limit switch to the point of grinding the motor... It seems to be completely random as I can sometimes run a part with tool changes and it will complete without errors.
After this happens for the first time I manually move the Z axis to the 0 point and reset Z to zero it will already have the -30 in the Z axis coordinates popup box, which is not changeable at that point for some reason.<O</O

I've searched the forums but didn't find anyone having this type of problem... If so, I couldn't find it. Hope someone has some idea of whats going on... Strange stuff...

"Run From Here" is pretty scary and does lots of crazy things. I started using "Set Next Line" and things seem to work much better because the file is parsed again and all the most recent settings are used for that line.

Does it still happen after a reboot? The only thing I can think of is a corrupt .xml file.

I've not tried to reboot and rerun the same file from the start but I have a feeling it would possibly work the next time. I have closed Mach/reset and reloaded the file and it still does it. Its strange too because when I click Run from here, while scrolling down to its new start point it will flash 30 in the DRO window. So apparently my program file is getting corrupt or something. What the heck could cause that in the middle of a run?

So, it might go to -.45 on the Z before asking you to press start to continue. That part is fine, I understand and watch the machine very closely during tool changes and starting in the middle of a script. This is like something is getting corrupt or maybe even something to do with my Gecko drive?? I don't know yet but it sure is aggravating...<O</O

Anytime something acts strangely in Mach3, I'd always recommend rebooting before trying to continue.

I just went and tried that exact thing. It remains corrupt. At a given spot in the code, the coordinates for the Z shows -.27.9597 in the DRO but in the code its actually 0.1...
I just tried overwriting my gcode file and tried again. Same result so sounds like it is a corupt xml file.. Ok, how can I avoid this from ever happening again?
