    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

Ref All not in desired sequence

I want Ref All to operate in the following sequence:
    Z then X then Y+A.

I edited the Ref All script M884.m1s to:
    DoButton (24)
    DoButton (22)
    RefCombination (10)

The script works as desired when I run it from the script editor.
When I run it from the Ref All icon it runs as Z then Y+A then X.

I have saved the script multiple times and I have restarted Mach. Obviously I am doing something wrong. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Wolfspaw

Question Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

    Hello all!

I am (temporarily) converting my CNC to a plotter.
I'll need to bypass the tool setter (auto Z) function when running the run code and manually set the Z height
of the pens during the start of the code and each colour change after that (there's no continuity in the pens)

What is the easiest (best/safe) way of temporarily disabling the Auto Z for doing this?

    Thanks!

    Hey Chris,

This can be done using a Post for the CAM software you use, or you can just change settings; this isn't a Screen-Set or Mach3 (Machine Software) solution, the CAM software where your tool and cut paths are rendered is where you want to look.

    Best wishes,

    Thanks,
I thought it was some scripts that Gerry had running in the screenset?

I'll dig a little deeper into it, thanks.

Replace the 2010 screenset M6Start and M6End macros with the default ones. I'm assuming you still want to have the machine stop on M6 for pen changes?

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

    Hi Gerry, and thanks.

Ultimately, I would like everything to remain the same as you have it set up in the macros,
with the exception of the automatic Z settings, where i will be manually setting the Z height.

So, yes to your question. When it comes to a tool change (pen colour change) have the
machine return to the tool change position, change the pen colour, manually set the Z height
and then have the code continue.

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

Then you'd need to remove the auto zero code out of the M6End macro, and probably make some other minor changes.

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

I have the 2010 screenset. I am now using it. I am not a programer or anything else.?? There are some button on the screen I can do without. There are some button I would like to have a different icon used. I do not feel confident of doing this myself. are there people that offer other designs that work with this screen set.

    Thank You

The graphics basically are the screenset. A different design would be a different screenset.

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

I guess I my have asked this wrong. When you buy your set there is an option to get photoshop files. If some one buys these and makes some bmp changes then it is not the 2010 set anymore. I do not have a spindle and there was one other thing I would like removed. and 1 or 2 button bitmaps change to a different look. I do not want to change the way anything works. Just a couple of buttons changed to the way they look. What does one do with the Photoshop files you provide.

    Thank You

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

The Screenset is made up of 7 background images, all of which are identical except for the tab area. The Photoshop file is a layered background image, which lets you save all 7 images just by turning layers on and off. So to add or remove a button, you make the change on one image, rather than having to do it 7 times, and make sure all 7 are exactly the same.

Once you change the images, you then need to edit the .set file in a screen designer. The actual buttons are transparent controls placed over the images. If you want to remove a button, you need to remove it from the images, and also remove the actual button control.

My question is how do I get the nice little router button to call a script? I want to press the router start button and have the DC start but asserting a output. I could see no way of doing this. including editing M6 macros

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

Open the screen in a Screen designer, and change the function of the button to either call an M code of your choice, or add VB script to the button. I think the spindle button calls the built in Spindle on/off function.

Imo, a better choice would be to assign the output to either M7 or M8, and have your CAM program add the M code to your g-code, right before the M3.

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

    Hello Gerry,

I'm trying to probe an edge on -X and it dit not work.

I was looking at the M904.m1s and realised that the OEMLED 1870 and OEMLED 1871 are mixed up with the screenset.

Did I miss an Update? I am using version 1.1.3.

    Thanks

    Thank you

    Re: Mach3 2010 Screen set

I'm not sure. I've seen this question asked every now and then, as a lot of industrial routers do this.

You might be able to do it with the macropump, by watching the feedhold LED.
