    fanuc threading cycle 4 a 21-t lathe

hi i'm new here i work on a ecoca lathe with a oi-tc control i'm helping a friend with a 12 year old takisawa lathe with a 21-t control can anyone help me with the threading cycle for the 21-t? On the oi-tc it goes like this:
    g0 x0 z5.
    m96
    m94
    m29 s1000
    g84 z-10. f1.
    g80
will this work on the 21-t control? any ideas appreciated.
    cheers, col

Your sample program appears to be a tapping cycle rather than a threading cycle (single point tool).

Not all Fanuc controls have the canned cycle option turned on so the best way to find out is to try it on your friends control without a part loaded to see what happens. If you don't get an alarm the option is turned on.

I'm not sure what m96 and m94 do on your machine, but they may not be the same thing on his machine.

If the controller is a 21t-a series, the multi repitition canned cycles aren't an available option for them. I've been up against this problem recently, you'll probably have to long hand code the cycle.

If canned cycles are not available, it is useless to ask if custom macro b is available?
