Oops, I was in a hurry and that came out a little crappy. I meant to say, I work with pics everyday at my job so I have all the tools. That happened to be one of the first things I checked and they were protected.

    Sorry about that,
    Richard

Good that you have experience. Why would you change it out for an ATMEGA?

I wouldn't. I said once I got my mill going, I was going to start attacking the "original" board.

I only played with the Atmel's back in 2004-5 or so when they came out with their STK for $50. Nice promotion they had and seemed like nice chips, but All my main tools were already for the pic micros and it still remains that way.

I had to cut a 1.500 ID Pocket in Cast Iron today.
I used a 1/2" end mill, 575 spindle rpm, feed rate way slow 2 ipm and a plunge of 1 ipm. DOC 0.025 per pass.

The motor stalled on 2 out of 3 plunges. My stock motor never did this.
I wonder if Keling gives refunds?

BTW, I forgot to update this thread. John at KelingInc made everything right by me and was more than fair. John always seems to come thru.

Keling is certainly not the issue here, If Sangmutan can fix the issue and get new parts out to us, then the problem will be resolved.

Has the issue with these defective Sangmutan motor controllers been resolved yet?

    Not yet it seems:

Given the time its taken to try and do a "quick fix", a complete re-design means we probably wont get anything till the year end...

How to connect BLDC driver and C11g BOB ?

    Chris,
I have 2200 W,6000 RPM BLDC motor and the driver from Sangmutan.
    I have C11g BOB also.
I try to connect the BLDC driver of Sangmutan to C11G BOB but it's not successful. Do you have the wiring diagram to connect them ?

Has anyone tried using a different drive with this motor? There are many brushless Advanced Motion Control drives on eBay. Some seem down right cheap compared to the failed drives.

sorry to ask. but how many of you have ruled out a timing misalignment?
the sangmutan is a sensored motor, does retarding the timing have any improvement?

i would just hate to see the producer of these motors seem stupid because the timing wasn't set properly.

'sensored'. Is this a new word?.

'Censored' is what this excuse for a motor control system should be.

These motors have revolution feedback only, there is no way they have any timing sense.

However please ask Sangmutan/Zhang this question and post the response.

    Just lucky!!!

I have 2 of the samutang 2200 watt motors and found them to be excellent performers until I Upgraded my machine to the newer versions of Mach3 and a smoothe stepper. then I had weeks of frustration trying to get the darn things to get near target spindle RPM, They also seemed to be developing less power.
This last weekend I downloaded Machstdmill screen sets. and it seems that my problems have been greatly improved. My spindle now runs dead on RPM and some of the other quirks and bugs have smoothed out. it seems the torque has improved also, Spool up time is still a little slow about 5 seconds to hit 2000 but better than 8 or 9.
I don't know if it is coincedental but I am happy!!
