    TORQ-Cut-22

In another thread i stated I had issues with my Torq-cut 22 after it sat a month
when i started and it back up the z axis would drop when I enabled the drives.
It would then kick out with an error.
This all started when I started it up and the machine said there was no op system.
After a couple trys it booted up to where the problem started with enabling the drives.
Now I get as far as the executive load and then to the c propmt.
    The bmdc wont load.
I have always got a quick message at the ds32 screen after boot up about a dos/bxt/font load error,
it used to be so fast I could not see what it was saying
now it hangs there and tells be dos/bxt/font
    loaded to block 0
    loading operating interface
    than to the c:>

I searched old forums on here and found a post George had made:

You should switch to dos using ALT and TAB then run RUN.BAT which should load the machine software
under DOS and not windows. This loads the correct fonts that the machine software needs.
Now i am wondering if this could be part of my problem.

At the c:>I can run btc.exe and get this back
low data address reg test failed
data should be 1a5 data is 0
hi data address reg test failed
data should be 1a5 data is 0
low data address reg test failed
data should be 5a data is 0
hi data address reg test failed
data should be 5a data is 0
    dual port memoty test #1
at side dual port ram ok
    machine check.....not running
    executive load...wait then c:

I also get crc error in data reading c:
I also had the power supply for the motherboard go bad during this and had to replace.
I am not sure if the bmdc is bad or thr pc just dosent reconize the bmdc
When i power up the machine there is a red led on on the bmdc that goes out on load up fail.

See if you have the B3T.exe on your hard drive. This is a BMDC test piece of software.
    Try running that.
I have been looking at the schematics. i would look harder for CR1. it seems to put power to the Pwmint board which turns on the drives. Check the overloads in the top left hand corner of the machine as well. (page 3 of the schematics)
If the CMOS is corrupted then the PC side of the machine will not be able to read the hard drive correctly and thus load the software to the BMDC and to memory. Same if the hard drive has some scrambled software. Check the CMOS and try going to the DOS directory and running SCANDISK and DEFRAG.

    George,
The results I show below are from the B3t.exe not btc.exe.
Mactec I did get your pm and thanks.
Right now it appears my harddrive is going bad.
Worked a little tonight with the mill and am having errors on the drive.
I have a dom for it that I am going to put in it.
I have a hardrive copy from when the machine ran fine to copy to the dom.
I have to figure out how to go about doing this first.
    Thanks for the responses
