    Chamfering Help Please!!

I am trying to put a chamfer in a corner of a sheet metal part. The chamfer is in the inside corner on the bend radius. I have tried to flatten the part, put the chamfer in, and then fold it. The problem is that it will not fold back up. Can someone please tell me the right way to go about this. I have attached a part that has the chamfer in it that will not allow it to fold back up.

    Hi Randy,
How big is the chamfer(full length of the bend?)? Is the chamfer just to clear the radius from the inside corner? What are you using to form it with after the chamfer? You will probably have to over bend it to get the assumed 90º bend.
    Regards,

It is just the .125 radius that is in the part. If you delet the .125 chamfer at the bottom of the tree. After that the part will unfold with no problem.

Been there and done that....just a few times!
Took me hours to find out what I was doing wrong.
Now I always make sure that any notches / chamfers / fillets etc don't cut into the bend radius
If you look at your part you will see that the fillet cuts into the bend radius.
If you reduce the fillet to 0.10" it will unfold fine
