    X2 column width.

    I need to know the width of the column on the X2 mill. I am not at home so I cannot measure mine. I think it is 4".

    Can somebody check for me? I need the info in the next two hours.

    EDIT: I also need the height of the column.

    Cheers,
    Fred

    Hi Fred.

    Please bear in mind that Chinese tolerances are rather loose, so what MY column measures may not be exactly what YOUR column measures.

    Width=3.956 inches.
    Height of entire column=21.75 inches.

    Thanks CR. I am ordering stock for my column brace, so your dimensions will work for me.

    Yes, just a bit less than 4". I just added a brace to my mill. I used a 6" wide by 12" long steel channel. 6" is about the same width as the mill base. I figured having the attachment points to the mill base further out would be more rigid. You can see photos in my build thread: Column Brace

    cheers,
