Dear All,
I am little puzzled with servo motor and mach3. I know mach3 need pulse and direction to control. Stepping motor,It's not difficult to connect.I know
For servo motor, I don't know how to connect with mach3.How to link encoder line with mach3? How to set up on mach3 configuration? I am finding some links to describe this on CNC zone but I can not see. Anyone can advise me.

you need servo drive have step dir input, connect and setting like stepper, but you need turnning servo.

Thank you the reply. I know servo driver have step and direction but I don't know how to connect encoder with BOB and mach3.
How to set up configuration,port and pin on mach3?

With Mach, the encoder has to go back to the drive for closing the loop.

You mean that it's not necessary to set up any parameters on port&pin?
Connect same as stepping motor system? yes or no.

The encoder does not go back to the PC just the drive so the step/dir signal is the same as a stepper.

Hi Mongkol, Set-up the pulse / direction signals to the servo drive amplifier the same way you would to a stepper drive. The servo motor feed back from the resolver / encoder will connect into the servo drive amplifier. The servo drive amplifier will output the same amount of pulses as the number of pulses it receives from mach 3.... not always strictly true because the number of pulses can be divided or multiplied by the servo amplifier.
