There is nothing currently planned for replacing the Powermax1650.....if we were working on a project it would likely be 2 to 3 years before it would be completed! The Powermax1650 is here to stay for a while!

dang.. what is the max cutting thickness for peirce on cnc wtih 85?
The new Powermax85 is safely rated to pierce 5/8" (typical conservative, guaranteed to work Hypertherm spec). As soon as I get my hands on one of the beta build units I will hang it on my cnc in my home shop....and we'll see what it will pierce. I'm pretty sure that 3/4" will be easy. The big improvements I see are: new torch that is similar in design (but different) to the Powermax45 torch, also have a 15 degree torch (for better reach for hand cutting) and a "mini" torch for smaller cnc machines. There are fine cut consumables, as well as 45, 65 and 85 amp consumables, all using the "conical flow" technology that makes the 45 cut so well. There also is a cnc interface that offers 5 different voltage divided output ratios for easy connection to many THC (height control) systems.....and a digital readout for air pressure and current settings....the air pressure self adjusts electronically to compensate for fluctuations in input pressure as well as nozzle orifice wear. Cut speed improvements using the conical flow are amazing over the already good Powermax1000 and 1250 speeds!
