First off, thanks a lot to all for your advice in fixing the brake control valve. It was great and now I have a perfectly well working brake.

Now, my Bridgeport Series II Interact 2 milling machine has another problem.

Its speed adjustment motor that adjusts vari-drive has become sluggish. The speed adjustment motor turns VERY slowly and hisses a lot.

It is driven by a 5-port. subbase mounted valve with 24vdc piloted solenoids.

I took it apart:

As you can see, it is a spool valve.

I did not find anything obviously wrong. However, when air is applied to the motor directly, it runs great. So something must be wrong with the valve.

Unfortunately, the valve has no marking on it saying who maae it, EXCEPT the solenoids say "Baldwin SP2007".

I have a few questions:

1) Who made this valve
2) Is there a replacement
3) What sort of standard mounting is this? (ISO? Etc)
4) What could possibly be wrong with it, given what you see in disassembly
5)W hat would you recommend to fix it?

Thanks a lot guys. Your advice in fixing the brake valve was invaluable.
