Well I bought an Ebay USB microscope and downloaded Tormach's scanner freeware.
I was able to have this setup up and running through Mach3 in about 2 hours total time.
It only took a few minutes to setup and get things rolling, but I had a few issues using the software after I did their testing with a penny. I ironed it out and it works very nice. For those interested in doing scanning in 2d for checking parts, or scanning in parts to reverse engineer , this is a very fast nice setup. Looks very good so far from what I see.
The software is $335 for a full version which then lets you export files as DXF so you can load them directly into cam software. I am contemplating this purchase because $335 is alot of money. But the ease at which this was accomplished, it might well be worth it.
Anyone else mess around with this ?
I didn't do this on my Novakon machine, but one of my other small machines.
