    Fanuc 401 & 414 Servo Alarms

    Hello,
I have a Takisawa TC-20 lathe with a Fanuc 21-TB control. For the past week or so in the morning when I started up, I would get a 414 X-Axis and Z-Axis Servo Alarm. I would then shut off the power again and restart. After a few rounds of this the alarm would disappear. However this morning it just won't go away. There was also a 401 X & Z Axis alarm this morning. That has disappeared but the 414 is persistent. Anybody have any troubleshooting tips?

Sounds like your power supply is not charging. Probably a failing capacitor.

Ok, thanks for the reply. You have given lots of information, I just need to know how to decipher it now. Are those bit values that I need to look up in the Diagnostics screen to figure out what the problem actually is? Thanks in advance for your help

I did finally get it running again yesterday, but I'm getting the 414 errors again this morning. When I look at the diagnostics screen #200 and #204 are all zeros (which I understand is the way they should be). But #201, bit #4, EXP is set to 1. I can't quite figure out from the manual what this actually means.
