I need recommendations on laser engraving plastic spectacle lenses.

We coat these lenses and each lens has to have a unique identification number. The identifier is about 2.5mm high and 4 digits.

Currently we hand engrave this, but it's time consuming- we have 3 guys engraving all day- we do about 800 lenses a day.

I'm thinking of a hand held system where you can, I dunno, type the number in then just point the unit at the lens and zap it, or a desktop system where I can bung the lens on the machine table and zap it.

Is there anything out there that would do this please?

Any CO2 laser with galvo head will help you. For example GCC Stellarmark 12 Wt
