Does anyone know what Set Gauge Height is for on my Discovery 308?

gage height is a feature in BP SX & DX controlers that allows you touch off your tools Z
onto something other the material you are going to cut. Some people use .010 leaf gage, I use a 2.000 electronic touchoff gage . It is very hard to feed down onto the material wihout breaking an edge off your tool . With the preset gage height, you do not have to figure in this thickness. I hpe this helps. Allan

Thanks, that makes perfect sense. On my EMC2 equipment I use a 0.500 dowel pin and lower the tool till it is lower than 1/2" then raise it up slowly till the dowel just passes under... So I can do the same thing with the Discovery.
