    Haas Keyboard Interface..

Has anyone ever wired a qwerty keyboard into a haas? I want to do this, and noticed that on the SKBIF (serial keyboard interface), there is also a 5 pin plug labeled "Keyboard" next to the 24 pin keyboard ribbon cable, but I cannot find any info on this plug. Can technicians plug some sort of test keyboard into this plug? If so, can I buy that test keyboard, or is it an adapter cable? The machine is paid for, and I'm not too worried about breaking it, I have access to a Haas simulator that I can plug into first to make sure it works..

    Any help is appreciated..

Oh, there is a program port also, with a lot more pins, so I assumed the 5 pin port was for plugging in a test keyboard or something.. Hmm, might have to do this the hard way.

    Re: Haas Keyboard Interface..

Haas VF2B USB Keyboard and Interface Adapter, Mathews Engineering part number HKBI01 is available on ebay. It should work on most other Haas machines that have the same or similar control panel--allows you to plug in any USB keyboard.
