    Sherline Lathe/DeskCNC w/servo motors

    :wave:Hello all,
Well I got a new sherline lathe with servo motors and deskcnc,
and I am needing some help setting up the software.:drowning: There are some
question in the setup about the speed of the servo motors and the x and y
axis which I'm not sure about..:withstupi I would like to get the late setup to start turning my pen and pencil sets.
Do any of you guys have a sample program
that I can get to test my lathe to see if its working. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Glen,
While I don't use Deskcnc on a lathe I use it on my router.

What setup questions do you need help with??

    Hello Mike,

I need help on the software, I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to
cnc software. I am more on hand learning type guy. Back in my younger days I ran a lathe, simple turning. But I need help setting up the software for the lathe, I need someone to show me or tell me step by step on the software
how to set it up and how to use it on the lathe. I tried with just how its installed on the laptop but didn't get anything to work.
    Thanks for the help

    Glen

    Hi Glen,
    First question,
Are you using version 1 or version 2?

If version 2, what is the status of the blue light?

I am using version 2.0.2.66, the one that came with the controller seems it don't work,
when I try to exit out of the program I get an error and it wont close out, so I have to shut the computer off.
and the blue light is steady, but if you try to turn one of the hand wheels, it will like turn a quick quarter of turn
then the blue light starts flashing.. I hope this make since...

What I meant was which version of the controller board.
    it sounds like v2.

PM me your phone number and a good time to call tomorrow.

We can do this over the phone in a short period of time most likely.

    G Code

OK, Here is part of the GCode I wrote, I guess
I am on the right track. If this is not right please let me know. If so,
then I have a bunch of typing to do. This is just a simple straight cut
    to do my pen/pencil sets

    Hi Glen,
It was nice talking to you and I enjoyed helping you get the lathe up and running.

If nobody responds here a repost i the G-code section of the forum might get a better response.
