Precision Plasma LLC 2' x 3' DIY Plasma Table

Precision Plasma LLC is pleased to announce the release of a new 26" x 36" DIY plasma table. Precision Plasma LLC is working on providing low cost, high quality CNC plasma tables for the hobbyist and small business owners. We only provide the mechanics of a system which allows the end user to choose the electronics and software that meet their needs. The table is compatible with nema 23 stepper motors. MOTORS AND ELECTRONICS NOT INCLUDED.

    • Powder coated frame
    • "C" channel frame allows parts to be cut from full sheets of material.
    • "Patent Pending" design

Precision Plasma LLC sells a full line of DIY machines and kits ranging from 4' x 4' to 5' x 10'. Besides complete tables, we also will provide gantry kits for people looking to save more money. Contact me with your requests and I will be happy to offer you a kit to match your exact needs.

The kit shown above consists of the gantry and rail mechanics of a cnc plasma table. Everything else needs to be sourced by the consumer. It requires (4) nema 23 stepper motors with 1/4" shafts with 276 in-oz torque or greater. Complete packages can be sourced from candcnc.com or many other vendors on the web.

In order to keep costs low, Precision Plasma LLC has chosen not to sell the electronics or motors with the machines. The support for the mechanics of the table is provided by Precision Plasma LLC. Support for the electronics must be sourced from the vendor which you purchase from. If you don't require support, you can piece together an electronics package with torch height control for under $800. Ebay is a great source for basic electronics and motor packages. If you require support, I suggest purchasing a complete package with unlimited technical support from candcnc.com for $1,250. (New lower price) Also, Mach 3 and Sheetcam software can be purchased from candcnc.com as a package for $299.

    Table Pricing:

Base unit consisting of upper and lower frames, rails, Z axis $2,000
3" 16 ga stainless pan with integrated slat holders $300
    1/8" x 3" x 41-3/8"lg HRS slats (set of 10) $100
(You can source locally to save on cost and shipping weight)
    Wiring arm (not shown) $100

See the Precision Plasma LLC website for other products.

    Compatible Electronics

Candcnc.com can supply a Geckodrive G540 kit to go along with their low cost torch height control (LCTHC).

    http://www.candcnc.com/LCTHC.html

Add an enclosure, motors, and a power supply and you would have set-up compatible with the Precision Plasma LLC products.

    Low cost electronics package

In order to further reduce the cost of the table, I have sourced another electronics package which would be compatible. It is from a company called deepgroove1.com.

The controls package is based on the Geckodrive G540.

This a 4 axis system with control box, motors, cables, and relay for $600

    Deepgroove1 Gecko control box

The Precision Plasma LLC 2' x 3' upper gantry, this electronics package, and EMC2 software would make up a complete system. (less a computer and plasma cutter)

The cost to get into CNC Plasma Cutting is now down to $1700 for the portable gantry, $600 for the electronics, and $0 for the software. For a total of $2300, you would have a system. This would not include torch height control, but you could add the LCTHC from candcnc.com for $199.

The lower frame, wiring arm, stainless pan, and slats are extra as described in the earlier post.

    A few points of clarification:

    1. The $199 price on the LCTHC is a special introductory price and only good until NOV 15th (a week from next Monday). After that, it moves to $249.00. The LCTHC-G540 combo pricing will stay the same.

    2. The LCTHC does not have EMC2 support (yet). MACH3 is required. SheetCAM is highly recommended.

    3. We offer Phone, Direct E-Mail and On-line forum support for any products purchased from CandCNC including the G540 and software packages. All our manuals are PDF (written) and available on line in our Manuals section of the website.

    4. Hooking up the LCTHC to the G540 requires access to the 12 pin connector on the bottom of the G540. We have a custom interface card (G540 Interface Card) that makes it a simple plug-in and single cable to the LCTHC. The G540 Interface Card will probably not work with the DeepGroove controller box. The G540 Interface card includes a 10A aux relay in addition to the Torch Relay on the LCTHC THC SENSOR card.

    5. There are quite a few features the LCTHC lacks compared to our DTHC. There is a comparison chart at http://www.candcnc.com/DTHCCompareChart.htm (I know, it's tedious) LCTHC does not have support for our new Digital Current Probe (DCP-01) or the new auto-learn (Smart-Kut).
