    Charmilles Roboform 200 - HELP!

    Hi Guys.

I bought an old Roboform 200 and the digital power supply. a Weir SMM 200 NT, is dead. Does anyone know what the supplied amperage's are for each of the output voltages: +5VDC, +12VDC, and -15VDC?

This brings up another issue. The Weir power supply provides -15VDC and routes it to a terminal block that is labeled -12VDC. Is it really -15VDC or -12VDC? If anyone could measure the voltage at the -12VDC terminal block relative to chassis ground (or the O with a slash through it on the terminal block). The terminal block is located right below the Weir digital power supply.

When I say "digital power supply" I mean the power supply that powers the back plane of the computer card file.

Thank you for all your help.

    Best Regards,

    Paul Hoffman

    hi

my favorite replacement power supply would be the:

    Astec P/N MP6-3E-1L-1L-00

    5VDC 120 amp 600 Watt ( 3E in the part number)
    12VDC 17 amp 210 Watt ( 1L in the part number)
12VDC 17 amp 210 Watt (1L in the part number)

this is the "raw" repalacement that Charmilles uses for the Weir.
Charmilles mounts it on a plate and adds a terminal strip, gives it a part number and sells it
for twice the price of the astec.

    good luck

    -12VDC VS -15VDC

Thanks for the info. I assume you meant +12VDC and -12VDC @ 17A each.

My Weir SMM 200 NTsupply has -15VDC instead of -12VDC. Does there need to be any adjustments due to the different voltages used (-15 VS -12)? If the -15VDC is used for a nulling pot it wouldn't null if -12VDC was used, for example.

    Thanks for the help.

    Best Regards,

the circuitry it is powering would like to see either +/- 12vdc or +/- 15vdc
not a combination of the 2.

it is powering analog circuitry in the NC rack, LM747 for example.

i always get +/-12 vdc at this point, and i am sure the wier is either 2 12,s or 2 15's
    not one of each.

a far as plus and minus goes on the 2 twelve volt supplies, you just wire one output reverse polarity, this is normal, so don't worry.

any competent electrnic tech can figure it out for you.......

I'm a retired electrical engineer, so I think I can handle it.

That said, I don't have the electronic schematics to know what it

is powering, and my Weir SMM 200 NT has +12VDC and -15VDC (no -12VDC)

    - that is why so I'm concerned about it.

The -15VDC goes to a -12VDC terminal block connection, so it looks as though
it was meant to have -12VDC. They could have used -15VDC, but they would have to trim the voltage difference out. See above previous post on "balance pot".

if you follow the blue wires coming off the terminal strip you will find that they run to 6 plugs on the same backplane just below the power supply. no need for schematics

5vdc and +/- 12 or 15 vdc is very common cardcage voltages...

I called Carmilles parts dept. and they said even though the Weir SMM 200 NT power Supply says -15VDC it really puts out -12VDC.

By the way, Their replacement part number is: 208572110 , and costs: $3,422.69 - WOW!

Does anyone have electronic board level schematics for the Roboform 100, 200, or 400? At Charmilles prices I would like to repair the machine myself.

I have a Robofil 200 that lost the -12v in the power supply; can I just reverse wire in a separate 12v power supply, or does the circuitry need dual tracking regulation?

Hello to everyone, I have a problem with my Charmilles Roboform 200!
when the program starts, the machine gives me an alarm : 814 V illegal
    -I cleaned all the contacts
-all voltages on the source are ok
I have no documentation about this machine
Please help me to solve this problem, or with a wiring diagram for this machine
    Thank you

    Hi,

the manual for the errors of a generator says: A814, V incorrect (trop grand), Corrigier la valeur (Correct the value). I can not help you more. Maybe you can contact Justin Purdun over Linkedin.

    Bye.
