I have seen large 5m long belt driven gantrys, my question is where is the best place to buy a large timing/toothed belt? Can it be bought in a roll I can cut to length?

I was able to order cut to length belt from a local industrial bearing supplier. Measure your belt carefully, as the same tooth pitch is available in more than one tooth profile, and the belt won't be returnable.

The belts that I am using are 5.5 meters each on the y axis and 9.5 meters on the x axis.
I had a 12 meter belt that I cut in half to replace the ones on the y axis, but although th e sprockets were of the same width and pitch, the profiles were different, and I ended up scrapping the belt.

Hi, I am working on a belt drive diy cnc router. Are you happy with that arrangement ?

BTW, once source for belts is brecoflex, I am sure there are many others.
